Configuring gift card settings

In your gift card settings, you can configure gift card amounts, change minimum and maximum limits for custom amounts, and choose image options for emailed gift cards or gift cards purchased online.

If your account was migrated from the original gift card version to the new gift card version, you can see your existing gift cards once you select Manage gift cards and configure your gift card settings for the first time. Once you save your settings, you'll be able to view your existing gift cards.

Changing your gift card settings

  1. If on iPad, tap the Managers tab.
  2. Navigate to Customers > Gift Cards.
  3. Select Gift card settings.

Understanding gift card settings options

Gift card settings are broken down into several sections. Here, you can change how you sell gift cards, edit any predefined amounts, set minimum and maximum amounts able to be loaded onto a gift card, and edit gift card designs for online sales.

Sales channel

By checking these boxes, you enable specific permissions for selling gift cards.

  • Sell gift cards by activating the gift card page: Enables selling gift cards in eCom.
  • Redeem gift cards by activating the gift card payment flow: Allows gift cards to be redeemed during online sales.
  • Sell gift cards by activating the gift card button in the sales screen: Enables selling gift cards in Retail POS.
  • Redeem gift cards by activating the gift card payment button: Allows gift cards to be redeemed during a sale on Retail POS.

You can also sync R-Series gift cards with eCom (E-Series) and/or with eCom (C-Series).

Gift card details

The Predefined amounts toggle allows you to choose fixed gift card values for quick selection during a sale. You can still choose a custom amount during a sale instead of a fixed value.

Limits allow you to enter custom Minimum and Maximum amounts that can be loaded onto a gift card.

Gift card designs

For gift cards sold in your online store, you can add custom images and show or hide stock images by customizing gift cards.

Viewing gift card codes and exporting gift card information

The ability to view complete gift card codes can be added or removed from user role permissions. This permission gives the role access to complete gift card codes on the gift card overview and gift card details pages.

The ability to export gift card data can be added or removed from user role permissions. This permission gives a role the ability to create an export of all gift card information, including complete gift card codes, all gift card balances, and the customer name associated with the card (if applicable).

For security purposes, it's best practice to limit the number of people who have access to gift card data to minimize the potential for fraud.

To enable or disable these permissions:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Employee roles.

  2. Select the employee role you want to edit.

  3. Check or uncheck the Customers - View Gift Card Numbers checkbox to allow or restrict access to full gift card numbers.

  4. Check or uncheck the Customers - Export Gift Card Data checkbox to allow or restrict access to export gift card data.
  5. Click Save Changes.
