In your gift card settings, you can configure gift card amounts, minimum and maximum limits for custom amounts, and image options for emailed gift cards or gift cards purchased online.
If your account was migrated from the original gift card version to the new gift card version, you can see your existing gift cards once you select Manage gift cards and configure your gift card settings for the first time. Once you save your settings, you'll be able to view your existing gift cards.
Configuring your gift card settings
- Navigate to Customers > Gift cards.
- Click Gift card settings.
- Select where you want to sell your gift cards by toggling on the switch for Point of sale and/or eCom. For more information about eCom gift cards, refer to our Syncing gift cards with eCom (E-Series) or Syncing gift cards with eCom (C-Series) articles.
- Optionally, toggle the Amounts switch. Then, enter the common gift card amounts that fit your business needs.
- Enter a minimum and maximum limit for custom amounts.
- Add custom images and show or hide stock images for emailed gift cards. For more information, refer to the instructions in our Customizing gift cards article.
- Click Save.
Viewing gift card codes permissions
Permission to view complete gift card codes can be added or removed from user role permissions. This permission gives the role access to complete gift card codes on the gift card overview and gift card details pages. For security purposes, it is best practice to limit the number of people who have access to gift card data to minimize the potential for fraud. To enable or disable this permission:
- Navigate to Settings > Employee roles.
- Click on the employee role you wish to edit.
- Check or uncheck the box beside Customers - View Gift Card Numbers to allow or restrict access to full gift card numbers for the employee role.
- Click Save Changes.
Exporting gift card data permissions
Ability to export gift card data can be added or removed from user role permissions. This permission gives the role the ability to create an export of all gift card information, including complete gift card codes, all gift card balances, and the customer name associated with the card (if applicable). For security purposes, it is best practice to limit the number of people who have access to gift card data to minimize the potential for fraud. To enable or disable this permission:
- Navigate to Settings > Employee roles.
- Click on the employee role you wish to edit.
- Check or uncheck the box beside Customers - Export Gift Card Data to allow or restrict access to gift card data export for the employee role.
- Click Save Changes.
