Printing and reprinting receipts

  • You can print a past receipt by navigating to Sales in Retail POS and clicking the printer icon next to a recent transaction. You can also ensure the printer can feed paper properly by pressing the Feed button on the printer.

  • Receipts can be reprinted from a Computer or iPad:

    • Receipts can be reprinted from a computer by navigating to Reports > All Transactions. From there, select the ID number for the sale in question, and click Print Receipt.
      • If you do not have access to reports, you can reprint a receipt by navigating to Sales in Retail POS and clicking the printer icon next to a recent transaction.
    • Receipts can be reprinted from an iPad by selecting the sale from the Sales page. Then, scroll down on the right side and click Print receipt.
  • You can set receipts to automatically print 1, 2, or 3 copies by adjusting the related setting when logged in to your account from a computer. This will only impact receipts printed when using Lightspeed Hub.

    1. Navigate to Settings > General Options > Printing.
    2. Select the drop-down list next to Number of receipts being printed after a sale to set the number of copies that should be printed.
  • You can stop receipts from printing automatically by adjusting the related setting when logged in to your account from a computer.

    1. Navigate to Settings > General Options > Printing.
    2. Enable Disable Receipt Auto Print Prompt.
    3. Click Save Changes.
  • There are multiple ways to include notes on receipts. You can include notes with each sale from a computer or iPad.

Alternatively, you can write notes into the Notes section for individual items, and then enable Display Note on Sales and Receipts from the item's Details tab to have them included on printed receipts.

Receipt printing errors

  • Thermal receipt paper is one-sided and receipts may not print properly if the roll is inserted incorrectly. Open the printer cover to check if the paper roll is orientated properly with the thermal side facing outwards. The thermal side of the paper will leave a mark when scratched.

  • You can quickly reset your receipt printer settings if receipts are printing with an extra margin.

    1. Open Lightspeed Hub.
    2. Click on your receipt printer.
    3. Click More actions > Reset receipt printer.
    4. A configuration receipt should print.
    5. Print a test receipt to ensure that the margin sizes are correct.
  • Logo settings in Lightspeed Hub can help you ensure your logo is printing properly on receipts if your logo is missing or faded.

    1. Open Lightspeed Hub.
    2. Navigate to Settings > Print Settings.
    3. Toggle on Enable logo customization.
    4. Adjust the logo customization settings.
      • If there’s a missing part of the logo on your receipt, enable Add white dots to solid colors.
      • If your logo is faded or washed out, adjust the Brightness slider.
    5. Click Print preview to test your changes.
