This article covers:

• Setting up a Zebra CS6080 barcode scanner.
• Setting up a Zebra CS4070 barcode scanner.

The Zebra CS6080 and CS4070 barcode scanners connect to your iPad via Bluetooth and allow you to scan your items wirelessly. These models are compatible with 1D and 2D barcodes.

The Zebra CS6080 model number CS6080 SR40004VZWW is not compatible with MFi (made for iOS) and will not work with the Retail (R) app.

What you'll need

• Zebra CS6080 or CS4070 barcode scanner
• Battery (pre-inserted in Zebra CS6080 models)
• USB cable
• Charging pad (Qi type) (Zebra CS6080 models)

Charging your barcode scanner

Before using your barcode scanner in your shop for the first time, fully charge its battery.

• Preparing your Zebra CS6080

  1. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port of the charging pad.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a power source. We recommend using a port at the back or bottom of your receipt printer or your iPad's charging block.

  3. Place your barcode scanner on top of the charging pad.

     

• Preparing your Zebra CS4070

  1. Insert the battery in the back of your barcode scanner.

     

  2. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port at the bottom of the barcode scanner.

  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB port.

     

To indicate that it's charging, the battery indicator LED at the top of the barcode scanner blinks orange. Once it's fully charged, the LED turns solid green.

Pairing your barcode scanner with your iPad

1. Press the scan button (... for Zebra CS6080, or + Zebra-CS4070) to power on your barcode scanner.

   

   

2. (Optional) By default, your barcode scanner is set to HID keyboard mode. To use your barcode scanner and keyboard at the same time in the Retail (R) app on an iPad, you need to set it to Bluetooth MFi_SSI mode by scanning one of the barcodes below from your iPad's screen. The barcode scanner will beep and its Bluetooth LED light will start blinking blue.

   

   

3. On your iPad, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
4. In the Bluetooth panel, toggle on Bluetooth.
5. Under Other Devices, tap the name of your barcode scanner.

Once the pairing process is complete, your barcode scanner displays as Connected under My Devices and the scanner’s Bluetooth LED light turns solid blue.

Unpairing the Zebra CS4070 barcode scanner

If you need to unpair your barcode scanner from your iPad, scan this barcode using your iPad:

Testing your barcode scanner

1. In Retail (R), click Manager > Inventory > Item Search.
2. Scan an item.

The item you scanned should appear in your search results.
