Hi. How can we help?

Enabling tipping and configuring settings

In Retail POS, you can enable the ability for employees to be tipped for services offered in your store, like bike repairs, pet grooming, or cafe offerings. Tipping is available on card payments made using a supported payment terminal.

Once tipping is enabled, customers will be given the option to tip at checkout on your Customer-Facing Display with a touchscreen (required for desktop setups) or an iPad customers can tip on. Merchants using Lightspeed Payments with the Smart Terminal (WisePOS E) have the option to enable tipping on the terminal screen.

You can customize preset tipping options, select which registers accept tips, and view or reassign tips from reporting.

Enabling tips

Tipping can be enabled through your settings in Retail POS. Tip settings can only be configured by Admin users.

To enable tipping:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Tipping.

    Settings page with Tipping highlighted

  2. Toggle on Tipping.
