The supported receipt printers that use your network to connect to your computer are the following:
Once you connect your receipt printer to your network, you can connect it to your computer with Lightspeed Hub. Hub does this by searching through your network to find your receipt printer. If Hub can't find your receipt printer automatically, however, you can manually search for your receipt printer by its IP address to connect it to Hub instead. The instructions on how to do this vary depending on the brand of your receipt printer—Epson or Star Micronics.
Connect your Epson receipt printer to Hub by its IP address
First, find your receipt printer's IP address:
- Turn off the printer.
- Turn your printer back on.
Then, connect your receipt printer to Hub by searching for its IP address:
- Open Lightspeed Hub.
- Under Receipt printer, select Connect.
- Select Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
- Select Search for printers by IP address.
- From the Brand drop-down, select EPSON.
- Enter your receipt printer's IP address.
- Select Search. After a few seconds, your printer will display in the list as Ready. If not, make sure it's connected to a power source, that your computer is connected to the same network as your printer and that your network connection is strong and stable.
- Select Connect next to your printer.
Your printer will now display as Ready in both Hub and Retail POS.
