The Epson TM-m30, TM-m30II-NT, and TM-m30III receipt printers can connect to your computer or iPad in two different ways:
- USB: Connects directly to your computer with a USB cable. Connecting to your iPad with a Lightning to USB cable is only supported with the Epson TM-m30II-NT and TM-m30III.
- Ethernet (LAN): Connects directly to your network with a LAN cable. Your computer or iPad then connects to your printer through your network.

Preparing your printer
- Remove the back and bottom covers of your printer.
- If you're setting up your printer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, skip to step 3. For Ethernet (LAN) or USB setups:

Ethernet (LAN): Connect the Ethernet cable to the back of the printer and to your router.
- USB: Connect the USB cable to your printer and computer, or Lightning to USB cable to your printer and iPad.

Ethernet (LAN): Connect the Ethernet cable to the back of the printer and to your router.
- Connect the AC adapter to your printer.
- Connect the AC cable to the AC adapter and an electrical outlet.
- Attach the bottom and back covers to your printer.
- Turn on your printer. The power LED light will stop blinking and become solid once your printer is ready.
- Open the printer's cover by pushing the lever on the right-hand side of the cover away from you and lift the cover upwards.
- Insert the paper roll in the following orientation. Keep the paper roll taut so it doesn't unroll, pulling the paper out past the cutter at the front of the printer.
- Push the cover down to snap the lever shut.

- Download the latest printer drivers (specialized software that helps the printer run correctly on your computer) for your TM-m30, TM-m30II-NT, or TM-m30III.
- Check the box next to Agree to the Software License.
- Click the Download button next to the Printer Driver for [your operating system].
- When the download is complete, open Finder and navigate to the Downloads folder. Double-click the file to extract it.
- Next, open the extracted folder of the same name.
- Double-click the .dmg file and the .pkg file.
- Follow the installation guide instructions to install the driver.

Connecting your printer on iPad
Establishing a wireless connection on iPad (optional)
If using Ethernet (LAN) or USB, skip to Installing your printer.
Connecting your printer to Wi-Fi
- Download the Epson TM Utility app from the App Store and install it on your iPad.
- Open the Epson TM Utility app on your iPad and select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard from the menu.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Connecting your printer to Bluetooth
- Open the Settings app on your iPad.
- Tap Bluetooth under General Settings.
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned on. The Bluetooth slider should be green and switched to the right. If the slider is to the left and gray, tap again to ensure Bluetooth is on.
- Open the roll paper cover on the printer. Hold down the Feed button until the Paper LED starts flashing, then release the button.
- Close the roll paper cover. A receipt starting with "Next Action" will print.
- Once printed, press the Feed button once for less than one second, and then hold down the Feed button for at least one second. A status sheet will be printed and the printer will be ready for pairing.
- In your iPad Bluetooth settings, select the printer name that is printed on the status sheet from the list of connectable devices to pair it.

Installing your printer on Mac
- Navigate to System Preferences and click Printers and Scanners.
- Click the plus (+) icon to add a new printer.
- Connect the printer by USB:
- Select the printer to be added from the list, which will autofill the name, location, and use.
- Click Add.
- Select the printer to be added from the list, which will autofill the name, location, and use.
- Connect the printer by LAN:
- Select the IP icon (represented by a globe).
- Enter the requested information:

Address: This is where you need to enter your printer's IP address. To find this, you will need to switch the printer off and turn it back on and wait 10-15 seconds until the network configuration slip is printed. Ensure that Ethernet (LAN) cable is connected to your device and the printer before attempting to print the IP address.
- Protocol: Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD from the dropdown.
- Queue: Leave this blank.
- Name: This is an optional field. If you would like to customize the name of your receipt printer, enter it in here.
- Location: Leave this blank.

Ensure that Ethernet (LAN) cable is connected to your device and the printer before attempting to print the IP address.
- Click the Use dropdown and select Select Software…
- Search for Epson using the Filter field and select EPSON TM Thermal (203dpi), then click OK.
- Click Add.
- Select the IP icon (represented by a globe).
Enable Receipt Cutting on Mac
Once a receipt is printed, your Epson printer needs to be set to automatically cut the receipt from the paper roll.
- Open your browser and enter the following URL: http://localhost:631/printers/. This will take you to CUPS, a network printing service used by Mac computers. It allows you to customize options such as receipt cutting.
- In CUPS, select your TM-m30III from the Printers list.
- Select Set Default Options from the dropdown menu.
- From the Paper Cut dropdown, select Cut Per Page.
- Click Set Default Options.
- Navigate to System Preferences and click Printers and Scanners.

Installing your TM-m30III on Windows
- After installing the drivers, you will be brought to the printer setup screen where you'll need to input printer information.
- In the relevant fields, enter:
- Model: Select Epson TM-m30III.
- Name: Type in a name of your choice or leave as default.
- Port Type: Set this to Ethernet or USB depending on your connection type.
- Port: Leave this as Auto setup.

IP Address (LAN connection only): This is where you need to enter your printer's IP address when connecting via LAN. To find this you will need to switch the printer off and turn it back on, then wait for a few seconds until the network configuration slip is printed.
- Once you've filled out these fields, click Save Settings and then click Next to complete the setup.

Installing your printer on iPad
- Open the Retail POS app and tap Receipt printer.
- Tap Add printer.
- Under Printers on your network, tap your printer's name. It may take a few seconds for your printer to appear.
- If your printer doesn't appear, tap your printer's model under Add a printer manually. Name your printer and enter its IP address, then tap Add.
- Tap Done.
Your printer will now display under Receipt printer on the Profile screen.
- Open the Retail POS app and tap Receipt printer.
Performing a test print

- In Retail POS, navigate to Settings > Locations.
- Next to your location, click Customize.
- Click Receipt Setup.
- Click Print Preview.
Your printer will print a test receipt.
- In Retail POS, navigate to Settings > Locations.

Performing a test print on iPad
- In the Retail POS app, tap New sale.
- Add an item to the sale.
- Tap Cash.
- Tap Done.
- Tap Print Receipt.
Your printer will print a test receipt. Make sure to void the test sale in order to keep your inventory accurate. To do so:
- Tap Manager > Reports.
- Tap Totals.
- Tap the sale's ID.
- Tap Void Sale.
- Optionally, enter a Reason for voiding.
- Tap Void sale.
- A pop-up message will confirm that voiding a sale is permanent and can't be undone. Tap Void sale.
Connecting a cash drawer (optional)
Cash drawers connect to your receipt printer and are triggered to open when you finish a cash or check sale, and a receipt is printed.
