If your barcode scanner is having difficulty pairing or connecting with your iPad, turning off your iPad’s Bluetooth and performing a factory reset on the scanner may fix the issue.
To turn off Bluetooth:
- On your iPad, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.
- If your scanner is connected: Tap Connected to display the connected devices screen. Tap Forget This Device and confirm by tapping Forget Device.
- Toggle off the Bluetooth switch.
Your iPad will be disconnected from Bluetooth. You can now start a factory reset for your scanner. Performing a factory reset on your scanner will vary slightly depending on your scanner model.

Factory resetting your Socket Mobile S700/D700 Series scanner
To perform a factory reset of your Socket Mobile S700/D700 Series scanner:
- Press and hold the Scan button followed by the Power button, making sure the scanner turns off.
- Press the Power button to turn the scanner back on. Its Bluetooth light should be blinking quickly, indicating that it is discoverable.

To perform a factory reset of your Zebra CS4070 scanner:
- Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 5 seconds. The scanner will beep and its Bluetooth LED light will start flashing quickly.
