Having a list of vendors and product catalogs in your Lightspeed Retail account opens many doors for you. Attaching vendors and vendor IDs to your inventory items can help you with building purchase orders and reporting on your inventory, and having access to a library of vendor catalogs allows you to quickly find and add new items to your inventory.
If you have a small stable of trusted vendors, you may consider adding them manually in order to keep your list of vendors limited to those you work with regularly. If, however, you're interested in exploring potential new vendors and broadening your pool of resources, you can quickly add many new vendors and product catalogs to your account!
Adding vendor catalogs by industry
- From the main menu, click Inventory > Vendor Catalogs.
- Check the industry boxes that are related to your business.
- Click Save Changes.
