Archiving and unarchiving employees

Since your Retail account's employee limit is based on your Lightspeed Retail plan, archiving an old employee is a helpful way to reallocate their headcount to a new employee. Archiving an employee is also reversible, making it possible to not only retain all of their data but also to unarchive them once they return to work for you.

Archive an employee

  1. From the main menu, click Settings Employee Setup.
  2. To refine your list of employees, enter your employee's name, select their employee role and click Search.
  3. Click your employee's first name or last name.
  4. From the top-right, click the Archive and Disable Login.

That employee will no longer be able to log in, clock in, or unlock the register.

Unarchive an employee

  1. From the main menu, click Settings Employee Setup.
  2. Select the Show Archived checkbox and click Search.
  3. To refine your list of employees, enter your employee's name, select their employee role and click Search.
  4. Click your employee's first name or last name.
  5. From the top-right, click the Un-Archive and Enable Login.
