For product classification purposes, you should add all your product manufacturers into Lightspeed Retail. You can run a report in Lightspeed Retail to view sales by manufacturer.
You can also add manufacturers on the fly when adding products manually. If you import products into Lightspeed Retail from a pre-existing database that includes manufacturer information, the manufacturers are automatically added to your Lightspeed Retail system.
NOTE: If you have an eCom store, you need to understand how eCom works with manufacturer data. Refer to Managing product brands in eCom
To add a manufacturer
- From the main menu, click Inventory > Manufacturers > + New Manufacturer.
- Enter the manufacturer name and click Save Changes.
