This article explains how to set up payment processing with Barclaycard in Lightspeed Retail POS and pair the Miura M010 terminal with your iPad.
In this article
Before you begin
- You must set up an account for your business with Barclaycard; contact a Lightspeed Retail Sales Representative for more information. Once your account is set up, Barclaycard will ship the Miura M010 terminal(s) to you. A Lightspeed Sales Representative will then activate the Barclaycard payment service on your account, including configuring the Barclaycard Gateway for your store(s).
- Make sure the Location for your account is set to United Kingdom:
- Log on to the Retail POS app in Manager mode.
- Open the Main Menu and tap Retail Manager.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap General Options.
- Under LOCATION, verify that Location is set to United Kingdom.
- If you have multiple stores, make sure you're assigning the terminal to an iPad that belongs to the store where the Miura terminal will be used. To verify the store you're connected to, check both the store name and register on the Main Menu in the Retail POS app. To switch to another store, tap the store name and when prompted, select the store you want and the corresponding register.
Pair the Miura M010 terminal with your iPad via Bluetooth
Power on the terminal (by pressing the power button on the top-right corner). Once the terminal is ready, the Bluetooth icon and the battery status indicators display onscreen and the terminal enters one of these modes:
Ready to pair (flashing onscreen Bluetooth icon)
This mode indicates the terminal is not paired with any device. To pair a terminal in Ready to pair mode with your iPad:
- On your iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- On the right-hand side, tap the Bluetooth slider to toggle it on (if it's off).
- Make sure the Miura terminal is powered on and the onscreen Bluetooth icon is flashing. If the terminal has entered sleep mode, press any key to revive it.
- Wait a minute or two for your iPad to discover the terminal. Then, under OTHER DEVICES (on your iPad's Bluetooth screen), tap the Barclaycard entry (that appears there) to initiate paring.
- Both your iPad and the Miura terminal display a random pairing number. Make sure the numbers on both devices match; then, tap PAIR on your iPad and press the green check-mark key on the terminal to complete pairing.
Depending on the version of your iPad, manual PIN pairing may be required. If you're prompted for a Bluetooth PIN during the pairing process, enter the last 6 digits of the terminal's serial number (which you'll find on the back of the terminal).
Ready to connect (solid onscreen Bluetooth icon)
This mode indicates the terminal is currently paired with a device. In this mode, the terminal only allows connection to the device it's paired with and it's NOT discoverable by other Bluetooth devices. To pair a terminal in Ready to connect mode with your iPad:
- Press and hold the green check-mark key on the Miura terminal until the Bluetooth symbol displays on the terminal's screen and the onscreen Bluetooth icon begins flashing.
- On your iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- On the right-hand side, tap the Bluetooth slider to toggle it on (if it's off).
- Wait a minute or two for your iPad to discover the terminal. Then, under OTHER DEVICES, tap the Barclaycard entry (that appears there) to initiate paring.
