Hi. How can we help?

Adding brands

For item classification purposes, we recommend adding all your item brands into Lightspeed Retail. By doing so, you can run a Brand Grouped Sales Total report to view sales by brand.

You can add brands:

By importing items into your account and including their brands, the brands are also automatically added to the Inventory Brands section of your account.

When adding a brand, be aware that the following rules apply when entering a name:

  • Brand names must contain a maximum of 255 characters.
  • UTF-8 characters are supported (click here for a list)
  • Retail does a case insensitive search of the name to avoid duplicates (e.g. If Lightspeed already exists, LIGHTSPEED or lightspeed can't be added).
  • Leading and trailing whitespace in a name are removed.

NOTE: If you have an eCom store, see our Managing product brands in eCom article to understand how brands in Retail are pushed to eCom.
