Managing the terminal's Ethernet connection
If you want to remove the terminal from the dock, you'll need to make sure the terminal is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
The Smart Terminal v2 resets its priority to Ethernet when rebooting. Even if the terminal was previously configured for Wi-Fi, the reader will switch to Ethernet if it detects an Ethernet cable connection while starting up.
If the reader is docked but there is no Ethernet cable plugged in, it will use Wi-Fi. Regardless of how it is connected while docked, you can still choose to connect to Wi-Fi and manage networks on the device.
