Analytics features a more intelligent forecast and a clearer path for your stores to track their progress to your goals. Adaptive goals are a new way of distributing your goal trajectory in response to your days of higher sales traffic: illustrating which days offer you the best opportunities to sell high volume, and which days are better opportunities for other actions.
New Goals Distribution
The new Goals distribution creates a unique average sales expectation for each day in the month, following your own sales data:
If you have sales data from the previous year for the corresponding month, each weekday's potential is based on the average day's performance.
If you do not have sales from the previous year for the corresponding month, but have some trailing sales data, each weekday's potential is based on a running average from the previous 8 weeks of sales.
If you do not have trailing sales data, Analytics will return to the even distribution of goals throughout the entire month.
Using Adaptive Goals
To set Sales Goals, simply follow the same steps in setup to define: a simple target for each store, a percentage growth target for each store, or customized targets for each store/month.
All your standard and customized goals reports will continue to function with the new goals distribution.
