Using the Customer data report

  • The Customer data report is only available to certain merchants and may not be available on your account.

Use the Customer data report to review and action potentially sensitive info that may have been entered in places like internal notes or address fields.

Flagged data will be automatically deleted on December 1st, 2025. To securely save customer payment methods, use the saved payment methods feature in Retail POS.

Accessing the Customer data report

To access the Customer data report:

  1. Navigate to Reports.
  2. Click Customer data report.

On the Customer data report page, flagged information is displayed in the ID and title column. The Field column displays where you can find the information on the linked page.

Review each line of the report to determine if it contains sensitive information.

Deleting sensitive data

If the data contains sensitive information:

  1. Click the Delete record (trash can) icon.
  2. Click Confirm to delete the data.

Deleted data is replaced with asterisks.

Editing flagged data

If you edit data manually, you’ll need to mark it as non-sensitive information on the Customer data report with a note that the sensitive data was removed.

To edit flagged data found on a customer’s profile page:

  1. Click the Navigate to customer (customer) icon to manually edit the information.
  2. On the Customer data report page, mark the information as non-sensitive:
    1. Click the Report as non-sensitive (☰) icon.
    2. Click the Reason information is not sensitive dropdown and select Other.
    3. Add a note that you removed the sensitive information.
  3. To return to the report page, navigate to Reports > Customer data report.

Marking flagged data as non-sensitive

If the flagged data is not sensitive and doesn’t need to be edited:

  1. Click the Report as non-sensitive (☰) icon.
  2. Select a reason from the Reason information is not sensitive dropdown, or Other to add a custom reason.
  3. Click Report information.
