Sometimes when using eCom to sell to customers in different areas, you need to report on the amounts of taxes collected by state. Analytics can make this a streamlined process.
Open the Tax Collected report, and you'll be able to view the breakdown of tax totals by day.
To add the state, open the Customer > Dimensions.
Navigate to Address > State. This will push the State field onto the data table, but it will display as null at first.
Click Run.
The states will display in the column.
You may see some duplicates because you're also looking at the day of the sale. So to look only at state totals, hover over the Sale Completed Date field, click Settings (gear icon) > Remove.
Click Run
You will get the totals by state that you're looking for.
Optionally, you can also add the Zip code by clicking Customer > Address > Zip.
The column displays with null information.
Click Run, and you'll get the complete results in your report.
