Hi. How can we help?

Locating sales without a receipt or customer name

You can locate a sale without the customer or the receipt using the Totals report. First, gather these transaction details from your customer and employees:

  • The approximate position in the series of transactions. For example, the first transaction of the day.
  • The date and time the sale took place. For example, the transaction took place around 11AM.
  • The price of the order. For example, the total was approximately $40.

With this information:

  1. In your Retail account, select Reports.
Shows an arrow hovering over the Reports button in the main menu.
  2. Select Totals.
Shows an arrow hovering over the Totals report link, first report on the page.
  3. Set the date range.
Shows an arrow hovering over the date range box, first field at the top of all reports.
  4. Click Search.
Shows an arrow hovering over the search button.
  5. Identity a transaction that matches. It can help to:
    • Sort by when the sale took place during the day by selecting the ID column header.
Shows an arrow hovering over the ID column header.
    • Sort by the price by selecting the Total column header.
Shows an arrow hovering over the Totals column header.
  6. Select the ID hyperlink to open the transaction.
Shows an arrow hovering over the link to open the order's settings.
  7. Click Lines.
Shows an arrow hovering over the Lines link, in the sidebar.
  8. Confirm the purchased items are listed under Sale lines. If not, expand the date range and repeat steps 3-8.
