Categories can be renamed in both Retail POS and eCom (C-Series). Renaming categories in Retail POS will maintain the link between Retail POS and eCom. Renaming categories in eCom allows you to have different category structures between systems.

Renaming categories in Retail POS

1. In Retail POS, navigate to Inventory > Categories.
2. Click the name of a category.
3. Enter the new name in the Category Name field.
4. Click Save Changes.
5. Use the Retail dropdown to select eCom (C-Series).
6. Navigate to Products > Categories.
7. Check that your eCom category structure matches your Retail POS structure.

Renaming categories in eCom

Renaming categories in eCom can make it difficult to trace which categories originated in Retail POS. We recommend keeping notes regarding the category's original title, its new title, and the reason for the change.

1. In your eCom account, navigate to Products > Categories.
2. Click the name of a category.
3. Enter the new name in the Title field.
4. Click Save.
