Redeeming Points for Rewards

Your customers will eventually accumulate enough points to start redeeming them for rewards. Once you've created some Rewards in the Loyalty Manager, you'll be able to quickly redeem your customers' points at checkout:

  • Redeeming points

    To redeem points for a reward:
    1. Start a new sale.
    2. Add your customer to the sale.
    3. Add any items they are purchasing to the sale (including any items that will be discounted using loyalty points).
    4. Click the blue Loyalty button.

    5. Click Redeem Reward.

    6. Select the reward your customer would like to redeem from the list. Note that only eligible rewards will be selectable.

    7. A pop-up will ask you to confirm the reward selected. Click Use Pts.

    8. The selected discount is applied to the item or invoice.
    9. Click Payment and complete the sale as normal.

    Discounts that are applied to a specific item (Points for Product rewards) will be created by Lightspeed Loyalty under SettingsDiscounts in Lightspeed Retail (if they do not already exist). Discounts that are applied to the transaction overall (Points for Invoice Discount rewards) are represented by non-inventory items with a negative price. These items are created in your inventory by Lightspeed Loyalty and are marked with the tag loyaltydiscount.

    Before you can start awarding discounts to your customers, you'll need to set up how you want to award points in the Campaigns section and what rewards are available when redeeming in the Rewards section. 

  • Redeeming points

    You can tap the Rewards button on the sales screen to open the list of Loyalty rewards at any time.

    To redeem points for a reward:

    1. Open a New sale.
    2. Tap Add customer and add the customer to the sale.
      Note: for Loyalty rewards to be available to the customer, they must be enrolled in your Loyalty program first.
    3. Add the items the customer wishes to purchase to the sale.
    4. Tap Rewards.
    5. The list of available rewards will be displayed. Select the desired reward(s).
      Note: Eligible rewards are rewards that the customer has enough points to activate and that are mapped to eligible items in the sale. These rewards will be displayed at the top of the list. Ineligible rewards cannot be selected. 
    6. Tap Apply. The sale will be updated according the selected rewards.
    7. Complete the sale as normal.

    The number of points redeemed and earned during the sale will be displayed.

    Removing rewards

    If you need to remove a reward from a sale, you can either:

    1. Swipe left on the reward's line item in the sale.

    2. Tap Delete.

    or

    1. Tap Rewards.
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of rewards and tap Remove reward.

    In either case, the reward will be removed and no points will be deducted from the customer's point balance.
