Hi. How can we help?

Getting started with Analytics checklist

After completing your Analytics Academy course, use the checklist below to get started with Analytics.

Logging in and configuring Analytics

  • Log into Lightspeed Analytics.
  • Tailor Analytics for your business from the Admin section by clicking the gear icon in the left menu:
    • Configure your settings in the Configuration section so your Analytics account captures precise data. This is especially helpful for determining dusty inventory, top-level categories, and what customer information is captured during sales.

    • Invite employees to join Analytics on the Users page. Select a user role from the Role dropdown, either Admin for full access or Reporting for reports-only access.
    • Set monthly sales goals for your shops in the Goals section. Enter monthly targets (the yearly goal will update automatically) > Save Goals & Proceed > enter a margin goal > Finish Goal Setting.

  • Navigate between the tabs at the top under Dashboard to view graphs, tables, and highlight metrics grouped by reporting category:
    • Overview: Data from key reporting categories like KPIs, Sales, Inventory, and more. Click the individual category tabs for more details.
    • Sales: Sales data like weekly and yearly sales, top sellers and upsell opportunities, sales by shop, and trends.
    • Inventory: Inventory data like stock levels, sell-through, on-hand, and vendors.
    • Employees: Staff performance data like capture rate, average basket size, and sales by hour.
    • Customers: Customer data like average lifetime value, new and repeat customers, and upcoming birthdays.
  • Dive deeper into specific data by:

    • Hovering over a graph, table, or highlight metric > click the compass icon (Explore) to open the associated report or the three dots icon (More) to download the data.

    • Hovering over an element on a graph to view more details about that metric.

Navigating the Analytics All Reports page

The All Reports page contains a list of Analytics reports you can search, favorite, and customize. Reports are organized into three main categories:
