Configuring your language settings

Lightspeed Retail POS is currently available in:

 

  • English
  • French
  • Dutch
  • Spanish
  • German

 

Viewing your account in one of the above languages is dependent on the language settings of your web browser or iPad.

 

Configuring your web browser's language setting

When accessing your account from a web browser on your computer, the five languages are available in the language selector at the bottom-right of the page:

To enable the language selector in your account, you need to set the language of your Firefox or Chrome to one of the above languages (except English). Once the language selector appears at the bottom-right of the page, you can instantly switch between the five languages at any time.

 

Firefox

 

  1. Open Firefox
  2. At the top-right of the window, click the menu button Screen_Shot_2020-04-22_at_10.30.00_AM.png > Preferences.
  3. From the Languages section, click Choose...

  4. From the Select a language to add... drop-down, select FrenchDutchSpanish or German and click Add.

  5. Highlight the language you added and click the Move Up button to move it to the top of the list.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Restart Firefox and sign in to your Retail POS account.

  8. From the language selector at the bottom-right of the page, select your desired language.

Chrome

 

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. At the top-right of the window, click More More and then Settings.

  3. Scroll down and click Show advanced settings...

  4. Click Language and input settings...

  5. From the Languages window, click Add.

  6. From the drop-down, select French, DutchSpanish or German and click OK.

  7. Drag and drop the language you added to the top of the list and click Done.

  8. Restart Chrome and sign in to your Retail POS account.

  9. From the language selector at the bottom-right of the page, select your desired language.

Configuring your iPad's language setting

When accessing your Retail POS account from the Manager screen of the Retail POS app, the five languages are available in the language selector:

To enable the language selector on the Manager screen, however, you need to set your iPad Language setting to one of the above languages (except English). Once the language selector appears at the bottom-right of your screen on the Manager screen, you can instantly switch between the five languages at any time.

If you're accessing your account from the Profile and Sales screen of the Retail POS app (any screen other than Manager), you can switch between the five languages at anytime by changing your iPad Language setting. Your language will change automatically once you open the Retail POS app again.

 

  1. On your iPad, open Settings.
  2. Tap General Language & Region iPad Language.
  3. In the Search field, enter FrenchDutchSpanish or German
  4. Select your desired language and tap Done Continue.
  5. Once your iPad changes language, open the Retail POS app. The Profile and Sales screens will appear in your desired language automatically.
  6. To change the language on the Manager screen, select your desired language from the language selector at the bottom-right of the screen.
