The barcode scanner included in your desktop bundle is the Honeywell Voyager 1200g. To set it up, simply connect it to a USB port on your computer. It doesn't need software installation and, therefore, should work right out of the box.
Note: If you're using a Mac and are prompted to identify a keyboard after plugging in your barcode scanner, cancel the process.
