Setting up the Lightspeed Retail stand for iPad

Lightspeed offers three different stands to integrate with your iPad or tablet. These stands are sleek, modern, and protect your device.

Currently, the Lightspeed Stand for iPad and Universal Stand for Tablets are available in the United States and Canada, and the Lightspeed Stand with Payments for iPad is available in the United States.

  • Lightspeed Stand for iPad

    Lightspeed Stand for iPad.

    • Crafted for stability, with a modern look and feel
    • Magnetic swivel base for customer interaction during checkout
    • Uses Lightspeed USB-C cable, with integrated charging built into the stand
    • Compatible with newer iPad models without Home buttons and with larger screens:
      • iPad 10th generation
      • iPad Air 5th generation
      • iPad Air 4th generation*
      • iPad Pro 11" 5th and 6th generations
      • iPad Pro 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations*

      *Will require use of included spacers to make iPad fit into stand.

    • Embedded payments directly next to the iPad using Mobile Tap terminals

    • Compatible with newer iPad models without Home buttons and with larger screens:
      • iPad 10th generation
      • iPad Air 5th generation
      • iPad Air 4th generation*
      • iPad Pro 11" 5th and 6th generations
      • iPad Pro 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations*

      *Will require use of included spacers to make iPad fit into stand.

    The Mobile Tap (Chipper 2xBT) card reader uses Micro-USB, meaning it is incompatible with the integrated charging of this stand.

    Universal Stand for Tablets.

    • Supports iPad 9th Generation and older models and other tablets
    • Magnetic swivel base for customer interaction during checkout
    • Quick-removal option allows tablet to be easily removed from the base
    • Uses Lightspeed USB-C cable, with integrated charging built into the stand

Setting up your Lightspeed Stand for iPad

If using an iPad Air (4th or 5th generation) or 11” iPad Pro (1st-4th generation), adhere the included spacers onto the enclosure.

  1. Connect the USB-C power cable to the opening on the base.

  2. Plug into a power source.
  3. Rotate the USB-C connector to its up position.

  4. Make sure your iPad is turned on.
  5. Place the iPad onto the USB-C connector. Slowly push the iPad onto the connector until you feel it click into place.

  6. Look for the lightning bolt icon next to the battery icon to ensure the iPad is charging.
  7. Position the iPad into the enclosure.

  8. Place the bezel over the enclosure.

  9. Press firmly around the edges to ensure the bezel is securely attached.

Setting up your Lightspeed Stand with Payments for iPad

If using an iPad Air (4th or 5th generation) or 11” iPad Pro (1st-4th generation), adhere the included spacers onto the enclosure.

Attaching and removing the Mobile Tap Reader

Before attaching the Reader, you should install the included adhesive pads. Place these two pads inside of the cut-out portion of your stand, at the bottom left and right corners.

To attach the Reader, place it onto the cut-out section of the stand. The magnet will secure it in place.

To remove the Reader, lift it away from the magnetic base.

Setting up your Universal Stand for Tablets

  1. To enable 180° rotation of the stand, turn the base to the desired position.

    To disable stand rotation, turn the base so the cable is routed to the right.

  2. Lock rotation by screwing in the locking screw.

  3. Feed the cable down through the stand, leaving the 180° connector at the top.

  4. Check the length of the cable to ensure it reaches the tablet port without excess.

  5. Push the cable into the S-slot on the underside of the base, making sure to maintain the correct cable length.

  6. Secure the stand to the mounting surface using the base adhesive or wood screws.

  7. Remove the film from one side of the tablet adhesive.
  8. Attach to the tablet connector plate, with the pull tabs hanging off.

  9. Remove the film from the other side of the adhesive.
  10. Place the tablet connector plate in the center of the tablet, with the cable channel facing the tablet charge port.

  11. Plug the cable into the tablet.

  12. Place the tablet onto the stand, maneuvering the cable into the channel.
  13. (Optional) To lock the tablet to the stand, push the locking pin through the hole in the top of the stand. The pin can be removed using a thin pin or a paper clip.
