Streamline your order process by leveraging NuORDER purchase orders (POs) directly from Retail POS. Here's how to set it up and how the integration works:
- Link your NuORDER account to Retail POS
- Import NuORDER purchase orders to Retail POS
- Managing products from exported order in Retail POS
Link your NuORDER account to Retail POS
Before importing NuORDER orders into Retail POS, you need to link your NuORDER account to Retail POS:
- Sign in to Retail POS.
- From the main menu, select Retail (R-Series). This displays the drop-down that allows you to switch between Lightspeed products.
- From the drop-down, select Link accounts. A new page will display.
Note: If you don't see Link accounts, sign out and sign back into Retail POS, or try linking your accounts in a different browser. - From the drop-down, select NuORDER.
- Enter your NuORDER username and password.
- Select Link account.
Your accounts are now linked. You should now see both of them listed and can go to either linked account from this page.
If you go to the main menu in Retail POS, you should also see NuORDER listed in the drop-down.
Unlink your NuORDER account
Should you wish to unlink your NuORDER account from Retail POS:
- Sign in to Retail POS.
- From the main menu, select Retail (R-Series).
- From the drop-down, select Link accounts. A new page will display.
- Select Cancel to navigate to the Linked accounts page.
- Under NuORDER, select Unlink account.
- To confirm the unlinking, select Unlink account.
Your NuORDER account is now unlinked. You should no longer see it listed on the page. If you go to Retail POS, you should also no longer see it listed as a linked account from the drop-down in the main menu.

- From the left navigation menu, select Orders.
- Export your order to Retail POS in one of the following ways:
- Hover over an order and select the Export icon
- Hover over an order and select the More Actions icon > Export order to POS.
- If you wish to review the purchase order before sending it to Retail POS, select the order to reveal its details. Then, select Export order to POS from the upper-right corner of the page.
- Hover over an order and select the Export icon
- From Export Order to POS page, select the Retail POS location that you want to import the order into. This page also includes the order number and the shipping address.
- Select Export.
Your NuOrder order will now begin to export. You can check the status of the export by returning to the NuORDER order and reviewing the Order Export Status:
- Not exported
- Export in progress
- Exported View PO # (includes a link)
Once your order is officially exported, select the link in the Exported View PO # status to view the purchase order's details in Retail POS.
Managing products from exported order in Retail POS
You can view an exported order by selecting the link in the Exported View PO # status in NuORDER. Alternatively, you can go to Inventory > Purcharse orders in Retail POS. Once in the order, you'll see all the products that were included in the exported order.
Once you're ready to begin the receiving process, the first time you import a product into Retail POS from an exported order, Retail POS will create a new product. The second time you import a product, Retail POS will use the existing product that it created from the previously exported order. If Retail POS creates a product that already exists in your inventory, we suggest merging the two together to remove these duplicate products. To do so, you can either:
- Merge your existing product into the new product created by the integration (recommended): With this option, you will still have the ability to edit any fields, images, descriptions, attribute names, etc. When additional quantities of a product are imported on future purchase orders, the details of the product will not be updated or overwritten.
- Merge the new product created by the integration into your existing product: With this option, a new product will be created each time that product is imported on future purchase orders. You will have to merge it into your existing product each time.
For step-by-step instructions, please see Merging items.
