The first hardware setup that we'll guide you through is for your barcode scanner. As instructions vary depending on the specific barcode scanner model and the Lightspeed Retail setup you have (computer or iPad), start by clicking the tab that matches your Lightspeed Retail setup.
Setting up a barcode scanner on your computer
The supported barcode reader for computers is the Honeywell Voyager. It comes in a wired (1200g) or wireless (1202g) model.
Both models do not need software installation or reconfiguration. Depending on your model, all you need to do is plug the scanner or the base into an available USB port on your computer as Lightspeed Retail works with the factory default settings of the Honeywell Voyager. Before using your barcode scanner, we recommend charging it for 4 hours.
For more information on how to set up the Honeywell Voyager (wired or wireless), please see our Configuring a Honeywell Voyager barcode scanner article.
