Setting up a Star TSP100III (Bluetooth) on your iPad

The Star TSP100III Bluetooth model connects wirelessly to your iPad via Bluetooth and provides wireless receipt printing from your iPad.

Setting up your Star TSP100III involves the following steps:

  1. Connecting your printer
  2. Inserting your paper roll
  3. Pairing your printer to your iPad
  4. Assigning your printer to the Retail POS app
  5. Printing a test receipt

1. Connecting your printer

  1. Connect the power cord to your printer and an electrical outlet.
  2. Turn on the printer and wait for the blue Bluetooth light to become solid.

2. Inserting your paper roll

  1. To open the printer's lid, push the latch on the right away from you and lift the lid upwards.
  2. Insert the paper roll in the orientation below.
  3. Pull the paper out past the cutter at the front of the printer.
  4. Push the lid down to snap the latch shut.

3. Pairing your printer to your iPad

  1. From your iPad, tap Settings.
  2. From the left menu, tap Bluetooth.
  3. On the right, under Devices, select your printer's name. Once successfully paired, your printer will display as Connected.

4. Assigning your printer to the Retail POS app

  1. Open the Retail POS app.
  2. From the main menu, tap the receipt printer icon.
  3. On the Printer settings screen, tap your receipt printer's name. A checkmark will display and your printer's status will be Online.
  4. Optionally, select Automatically Print Receipt if you want your receipts to print automatically when you tap Finish Sale. Alternatively, you can manually print receipts by tapping Print Receipt at the end of a sale.
  5. From the main menu, ensure your receipt printer's status icon is green (see Hardware Status).

5. Printing a test receipt

  1. From the main menu, tap Retail ManagerReports > Totals.
  2. From the ID column, tap a blue transaction ID.
  3. Tap the grey Print Receipt button. You should have a successful receipt and your iPad should be official setup for USB receipt printing.
