3 a. Setting up the Conform Plus theme

To be a strong contender in the competitive market that is the world wide web, it's important for your online store to have a look and feel that represents your company's identity and promotes sales. This is why we've designed the Conform Plus default theme that does just that — no coding experience necessary. It even has a built-in tutorial you can walk through!

Setting up the Conform Plus theme starts from the homepage of your online store. To open it, from the left toolbar of your back office, click the View Store button.

From there, the theme's built-in tutorial will help you:

  • add a logo.
  • add navigation items.
  • add a headline.

Once you've completed the above, we also recommend to:

  • hide the built-in tutorial.
  • turn off brand sliders.

Add a logo

A logo acts as the center piece of your brand. Show it off by adding it to your online store:

  1. In the top left corner of your homepage, hover your cursor over your Shop Name.
  2. Click +Set a Logo. This will redirect you to the Theme Editor section of your Design settings in a new window.
  3. Under Logo, click Browse.
  4. Select your logo's image file.
  5. Click Open.
  6. In the top right corner of your page, click Save.
  7. To view the logo you added, in the left toolbar of your back office, click View Store.

Add navigation items

To help your customers navigate around your online store, you can create drop-down menus called navigation items:

  1. In the top right corner of your homepage, click + Add Navigation Items. This will redirect you to the Categories section of your back office in a new window.
  2. From your list of categories, select the top-level parent category's title.
  3. From the Visibility section, select the Include In Catalog checkbox.
  4. Click SaveBack to Categories.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 until all your categories are marked as VISIBLE.
  6. To view your new navigation items, in the left toolbar of your back office, click View Store.

Add a headline

Grab your visitors’ attention with a headline that promotes the top-level parent category of your 10 products:

  1. From your online store's homepage, select Create Headline. This will redirect you to the Headlines section of your Design settings.
  2. Click Add headline.
  3. Enter the title of your headline as it relates to your category.
  4. Select your language (ex: English US).
  5. Click Add headline.
  6. In the LINK TO section, select the following:
    • Type: Category.
    • Category: The top-level parent category of your 10 products.
  7. In the IMAGE section, click Browse.
  8. Select the image file that represents your category.
  9. Click Open.
  10. On the top right of your page, click Save.
  11. To view your new headline, in the left toolbar of your back office, click View Store

Hide the built-in tutorial and brand slider

As we are only designing around 10 products that are in the same category for now, there is little need for the built-in tutorial or a brand slider. We'll show you how to temporarily turn these off until we continue exploring your designer side in the Enhance level of the Retail with eCom - Guide Setup (coming soon).

To hide the built-in tutorial:

  1. In the top right corner of your homepage, click Hide Tutorial. This will redirect you to the Theme Editor section of your Design settings.
  2. In the 1. TUTORIAL section, disable the Tutorial toggle.
  3. On the top right of your page, click Save.

To turn off the brand slider:

  1. From the left menu of your back office, go to Design.
  2. On the bottom right of your page, click Customize theme.
  3. In the 6. HOMEPAGE section, disable the Add Brand page toggle.
  4. On the top right of your page, click Save.
